Start by Getting the Training You Need
Starting on a path to professional umpiring is a lot easier than you think. Getting trained at an umpire school is the first step you need to take if you want to fulfill your dream of becoming a professional umpire.

You'll want to have had some past playing or umpire experience, preferably both. But, the fact of the matter is that getting into an umpire school is a lot easier that you think. In fact, our recommendation is to not worry about it and make sure you select the right umpire school for you.

Below you'll find information for the one school but we suggest you visit our sister site if you want a full list of professional umpire schools.

Many first time umpire school attendees have little to no experience on the field. Experience helps but is not a pre-req.
- EXPERIENCE -
Getting work after you finish training is just as important as your schooling. Meet people while at your training sessions and stand out to the instructors. That will give you a leg up.

- WORKING -
There are three MLB recognized umpire schools. The Harry Wendelstedt School is one of the big three. To find information on the others visit www.umpireschoolhq.com
